Karen and Elizabeth:  May I help to clear this up.....I own the website
http://www.mccoypottery.com/ and must let you know that:

McCoy Pottery ceased operation in late1990....The ownership of the company
changed in the 60's....1967  to be exact to David Chase a private individual
and then in1974 Mr. Chase sold to Lancaster Colony Corporation...as the
Lancaster Colony Corporations  business in the housewares market slipped
the McCoy pottery Division was sold to Designer Accents in 1985 who made
cookie jars on special order from companies like Pillsbury.....Nelson McCoy
remained as president of the company until 1981.  By the way the McCoy
mark (the traditional one) was copyrighted by a man in Tennessee in 1991.
Hence the Reporductions out there with the Mark on it.  He is not a McCoy....
The McCoys still play in clay today in a small way, OK?
