It can be seen in "The Collector's Encyclopedia of McCoy", by Huxford on page 175 row 2 - the one on the right. If you look at this picture, you'll see that there is a hole for hanging the wall pocket. The one I purchased does NOT have a hole. I thought at first that maybe just the glazing filled it in, but there doesn't seem to be any indention at all on either side. Does anybody have any idea why a wall pocket would not have a hole to hang it by? Could it be that some came with a 'bracket' for hanging? I reviewed the wall pockets on ebay today and found several for sell like this one. All the pictures showed hanging holes!! Considering its age, this piece is in excellent condition. There are small glaze chips about the size of a pin head on 3 of the leaf tips - other than that and a small bit of crazing, it is perfect. It was a small yellow basket weave planter; I didn't really get that excited about it, but I thought it was nice and kept it. Later in years I began to appreciate it's workmanship. I used to be able (not so long ago) to go to almost any second hand store and pickup something. Those days seem to be gone regarding anything resembling a good buy. Antique stores are the same story. Auctions, somebody always seems to want it a whole heck of alot more than me because I don't seem to be coming home with much lately. Sometimes I think I should sell the whole lot of it but then I'd just have to find something else that would drive me nuts looking for... Although, I've been on new kick lately for "chalk ware hula girls" (carnival give away's). I thought it was bad trying to find McCoy! I've got TWO in probably 3 years. Speaking of turning things over and looking for the 'signature', I resently purchased a cast iron frog in a 'goody' box at a local auction ($2.00 for the box). I wanted the frog to try and break friends from picking up everything in our house and looking at the bottom. When you turn this frog over, you have no doubt that it's a 'boy' frog (enough said). No genuine cookie jars are marked "Brush McCoy". The mark "Brush McCoy" is, or has been, used by Roger Jensen of Rockwood, Tennessee to reproduce a wide variety of older jars. The design you described was known as "Muggsy" and was originally produced by Shawnee Pottery and later by Terrace Ceramics. The original jar by Shawnee sells for $300 and up depending on the trim. The reproduction commonly sells $20 to $25.
