Great story. I only started collecting McCoy since this past fall. I have a
similar story - I live in Kentucky and my mother lives in Indiana. I was home
one weekend visiting and she asked me to get her yellow bowl out of the
cupboard for her - we were making a pie, I believe. When I pulled it out, I
was surprised - it was a McCoy. I had my books with me and showed it to her.
We were looking through the book, and she pointed out a pitcher and another
bowl that she said she had down in the basement! Guess what - I now have
them! What a wonderful discovery.
I'm going to my first auction this weekend - they advertised a McCoy
collection, including the mammy cookie jar, and the apollo cookie jar.
Wouldn't it be great if I got a good deal on them!
I have a homepage and have pictures of some of my McCoy Pottery. If anyone is
interested in looking, my homepage address is:

I'd like to talk my husband into attending the festival in July - don't know
if he would go with me though, but it sounds like fun!
