I don't know where but I read that there are only 400-500 of these made and given at the retirement party. I want to purchase this but want to know if anyone has ever heard of this piece being reproduced before I spend the money. The picture on the front side of Nelson/Billie McCoy is slightly angled (which it kind of looks this way in the book also). Does anyone think of this piece as highly valuable? I just got back from Adamstown, PA. Very good day! I bought a Duck with egg planter for $15 with good cold paint and an unusual vase. I recognized the shape as McCoy, a matte white approximately 6" hourglass shaped vase with handles. Fairly common, but this one had a hand painted floral design. Looks like the design was old not recent. Very pretty and $3! The NM mark was very faint but there. I don't know if this was a McCoy factory "lunchtime item" or (more likely) added when purchased. Has anyone come across any cold painted vases? I saw a similar design on a vase in the NEW Snyder McCoy 2nd Edition Revised & Updated book.(just arrived at the bookseller's stall). This book has not been mentioned in the McCoy newsletter so I thought I would pass the info along. Spring Garage Sale and Flea Market season is here! I purchased at a tag sale yesterday a very small 4" blended glaze pot/jardinerre. Anyone know the value of these small ones, it had beautiful color, glaze and what kind of looks like a lionhead miold but not quite. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? The first was published in 1999 and this book was published in 2001 and just came out. I just can't resist any McCoy book, so I bought it. If you have any questions on the updated prices, just ask. My 14.5" Necco Vase is now valued at $220-$240 according to this book. In the 1999 book it was valued at $165-$180. Of course price guides are just that, "guides". (I wouldn't part with it anyway!) The hand painted vase I bought has flowers similar to the vase on page 41 of Snyder's 1999 book. Is it common to find painted vases? Can't wait for the new Nissen Hansen book due next Fall. I think over the years I have seen some painted pieces. In fact we had a Floraline that had a flower painted on it and sold it in Zanesville a couple of years ago. I am selling on-line but not the McCoy unless I have several of the same items. I haven't had time to check the book page by page but it looks like the same photos just new prices. I hate that, the least the could do is throw a few new ones in. All of the triple lily vases that I see on ebay or other places also measure 7" high. The HNH volume 1 book page 166 indicates that it should be 8-1/2" high. Could that possibly be a misprint? Please advise as it is very confusing, especially with all the talk of reproductions. Thanks!
