FAKE = NEVER PRODUCED BY THAT COMPANY, BUT MADE BY SOMEONE ELSE AND PUT
THAT CO'S NAME ON IT CLAIMING IT WAS A REAL PIECE MADE BY THAT CO.
USUALLY THEY COPY SOME OTHER CO'S PIECE TO MAKE THE FAKE.
EXAMPLE - MCCOY LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD COOKIE JAR
NEVER MADE BY THE REAL AND TRUE POTTERY CO IN
OHIO.
IT APPEARS ROGER JENSEN COPIED EITHER HULL'S OR
REGAL'S
LRRH AND MARKED IT MCCOY. NO MATTER WHAT HE CLAIMS
IT IS A FAKE. NEW MCCOY POTTERY CO OR WHAT EVER.

REPRODUCTION - TAKES ON TWO FORMS.
               1. AUTHORIZED COPY OF A COMPANY'S PIECE OF POTTERY AND IS
SO
STATED WHEN THE PERSON IS TRYING TO SELL IT.
               2. UNAUTHORIZED COPY OF A COMPANY'S PIECE OF POTTERY AND
IS
PASSED OFF AS AN ORIGINAL. REMEMBER THIS IS NOT A
FAKE, JUST
AN ILLEGAL COPY IN MY OPINION.

THESE ARE MY FEELINGS ABOUT FAKE VS REPRODUCTION.

BUT THE WAY I ALSO COLLECT LIMOGES PORCELAIN CHINA AS WELL.
WE BOUGHT SOME REPRO PIECES MADE IN CHINA WITH WHAT APPEARS TO BE A REAL
LIMOGES MARK. I KNEW THEY WERE REPRO'S BUT LIKE THEM ANYWAY.
DID NOT PAY PRICE FOR IT AS IF IT WAS ORIGINAL. THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS
A REPRO BUT ALREADY KNEW THAT. DON'T KNOW WHAT THE INTENTION OF CO./ WHEN
THEY PRODUCED IT.

REGARDS,
