Hi Rebelrose: if the leaf on your first bowl is like a maple leaf, I think
Western Stoneware used that as their mark. I'm not sure about the K -
Kingwood Ceramics used a K inside a crown, but I don't know if they made
brown drip items.
Shawnee Pottery was indeed a separate company, producing a lot of planters,
vases, dinnerware, cookie jars, etc. They were in business from 1937 to
1961, in Zanesville, Ohio (not far from McCoy which was in Roseville, OH).
Some of their pieces are not marked, or marked only with a number and/or
U.S.A., so it is hard to tell who made them, and I often see Shawnee pieces
listed as McCoy in places like eBay or in shops, but they are two different
firms.
