Tom, You may have a piece from the Star Stoneware, Crooksville, Ohio,
that went out of business by 1945. Is the star sunken into the bottom,
and how big across is it?
Everyone, one of the best sources to research marks is Lois Lehner's
Encyclopedia of Makers on U.S. Pottery, Porcelain, and Clay.
Someone asked about a brown drip piece with a K. There was a line
called Kathy Kale made by more than one pottery that also had a K. Watt
made some brown drip but their book says that none of theirs with the
gloss brown glaze was Kathy Kale. Says it seems to be McCoy molds, or
perhaps Canonsburg Pottery.
