Tom,
Don't get discouraged. My husband was 31 when we got married, and that
was just over 48 years ago. Also, I have an aunt who was married at 33
and still had 3 children. My uncle lived long enough that they
celebrated 50 years of marriage and then some.
As to thrift shops, etc., we have a Volunteers of America, a Birthright
(for troubled pregnant teens), a cancer, and a diabetes one in our area.
The Volunteers take outright donations. The others take either
donations or sell on consignment. I have found bargains at all of those
places. Years ago got the globe cookie jar, minus much of the cold
paint, for 75-cents.
