Okay, I bought this a few weeks ago and I'd love to know "something" about
it!
We laughed that it appears to be a jar for ashes, but I don't think so.
PLEASE tell me it ain't so!<G>
I put the photos on the OhioPottery List, but if you aren't on it and would
like to take a jab at helping identify, please let me know.
It is a large urn, around 18 inches tall. It is white, but more of a
blueish white. It has a raised lid with an acorn finial on the top. The
style is Grecian. Instead of handles it has a goat head on each side of the
urn for handles. Of course that's why I bought it. It is of white clay and
is pottery, not porcelain. Very heavy and the base is attached to the urn,
not molded together. The bottom has no glaze but 2 blue lines, one smaller
than the other.
Any help would be appreciated!
Jennifer
