LOL my hubbies aunt thought Roseville was ugly so she gave away her
pottery from her grandmother to her one daughter who promptly sold it
all in her thrift shop even though her sister was a big collector . But
His aunt did moved to a retirement community give me a piece of
majolica from her grandmother which her daughter didn't want it had a
hairline and a real estate agent' offered her 10.00 for and a big
rooster she adored but had no place to show him that her husband had
brought back from italy during his time in the paratroopers
during ww 2 Aunt Margie is now about 80 years old still loves to
hit folk festivals and is crazy about jimmy buffet <grin> . Maybe some
the younger set may not be into our memories but prefer new but there
are an equal amount of them that do want these memories. I would
rather sell to a new collector then try and give my memories to a
child who doesn't really want or care about them at least with a
collector you know they will be cherished all over again. When you have
a history with an item that adds to the new persons own memories
since they know its origin.
