I'm an old 35mm SLR user, so I'm super pickey about cameras.
That is why I was looking at the Olympus C-4000. It is a real
camera, but still sells for a price I can afford. It's not pretty
and modern looking, but it has a good feel and in addition
to all the automatic controls, you can override everything and
take your own pics. The other options were the Minolta S404
or DSC-S85 or the comperable Nikon (can't remember model,
right now). The Fuji FP 3800 is really cute, small and has the
feel of a real camera, but it's just not "good" enough.
Now, what I'd REALLY like to have is a Minolta 7i or Olympus
E-10 or 20, or the Canon digital EOS, but I can't afford those
cameras yet. Eventually they will drop in price, but right now,
they are just too much for me. :-)

I agree. That is why I'm concerned that the camera I bid on was
switched with a refurb one. :-(

The local stores are too high, for the cameras I like. So, I'm
pretty much going to have to buy online. :-( I'd really rather
be able to buy at a local store.

I always toss those things away. I use nice graphics software.
You can pretty much do anything with Photoshop, if you know how.
I know how to do a lot with it, but I'm no expert. ;-)

I didn't bother to look at a Ricoh, but I'll do that. I know they make
decent SLRs. I really don't want an HP or a Kodak. I really am
used to nice cameras and I know I'd never be happy with one of
the HP/Kodaks I've seen so far.
Thanks for the info.
I'll certainly check out a Ricoh. :-)
