I didn't see an answer, so I'll give my 2 cents worth.
Buy some Dawn Complete dishwashing liquid.  Wet the jars and then squirt the
dawn straight on the wet jar.
Use your hands and rub the soapy mix all over the jar, then rinse in tepid
water.
If you are asking dishwasher hot, absolutely, positively do NOT ever put
this kind of thing in the dishwasher!
Just my opinion from washing a LOT of cookie jars.  Using your hands rather
than a sponge or dishcloth keeps you from touching that cold paint and when
you rinse the jars, put them upside down on a clean towel and let them air
dry.  This way you won't loose any of the cold paint.

Hi ya'll,
         As I have stated before, I am a fledgling
collector. I have 21 cj's at this point, a wheat
pattern vase and a 1926 nelson mccoy cider set. I am
wondering what the best way is to clean these,
particularly the cj's with cold paint. also can the
cider set mugs stand up to hot liquids? any info is
greatly appreciated.
