Thanks!  Did they re-use the 40's McCoy logo on the bottoms of the newer
things then?  I was confused because the number would be 70's but the McCoy
logo was from the 40's.
It sure is a BIG stein or what I would call more a tankard.  I can't imagine
drinking that much of ANYTHING!  And I drink my coffee out of a 16 oz
I don't have the red book and as I've already got 4 McCoy books, I don't
think I'll be buying it any time soon!
I'll add the description on my auction!

There is a catalogue page of steins in the Sanford book on page 203.
Yours is shown along with the same shape in both brown and green.  There
is a big picture of it in the brown on page 208.  "#6040 64 0z. Modeled
Stein in Birchwood Stain,  1972".  Value is given as $25-$35 in 1997.
