Thank you so much for all your replies!!  The black lid to the jar looks as=
 if it was painted as well . The inside of the lid is white. My husband and=
 I just started collecting cookie jars over the past 2 years and we are sti=
ll learning.  We have made a few mistakes already but reading through the m=
essages that are being posted are so helpful . We also purchased 3 books th=
at we look at every time we are on ebay shopping or where ever we go!  It i=
s great to be able to have people out there that are willing to lend there =
knowledge to the people that are still learning.   I think we have a Fish, =
Mammy and a Bear that are fake Mccoys also.  I just wish we would have done=
 more research before we bought any jars.  I guess we learn from our mistak=
