I think there is some misunderstanding here.   Exchanging links amongst 
web sites is a fairly common thing, actually it always has been.  That 
is how the internet started, that is what makes it work, and that is 
what we are talking about.

Adding a link to a site like McCoyPottery.Com which gets a lot of 
visits, affords others who are linked to the site the opportunity to 
share in that traffic and visa versa.  If you do not have a web site, 
ignore the thread.  If you do, and it is McCoy related, then we 
encourage you to link to our site, as we will add a link on our site to 
yours.

There is no "list", it is a "link", there is no "spam", it is a "link"

Here is a little definition on what a "link" is:

  Short for "hyperlink." Links are commands used to jump from Web page 
to Web page. If you didn't have links, you wouldn't be able to get from 
one Web page to another. Because links can lead to a page either 
related to the one you're on or to one completely unrelated, links have 
made linear thought on the Web pretty much an option, not a rule. 
Therefore, it is because of the link (and hypertext in general) that 
the Web is such a unique medium. Sometimes links appear as an 
underlined, colored word or group of words; sometimes they're a 
picture; sometimes they're icons, which are like pictures but usually 
more functional. Just remember that links are made to be clicked (and 
are therefore "clickable").
