I  just looked at the pictures on eBay.  It says Vance & Co.  There is also an incised block M as well as the #.  I am going to check my book on marks to see what I can find out.  Elizabeth

It is a pottery plant...wonder if it burned too....lol....anyway I've never heard of it. There is a beautiful piece on ebay right now and is going for about $400 so far.  It sure looks strange.
