Our son hooked ours up.  The TV is the monitor and you either use an
electronic keyboard or use the remote control that comes with it and
will bring the keyboard up on the screen.  You can search for anything
and obviously use email.  Although we haven't done it yet, you can hook
up a printer.  Our oldest son set ours up and I'm sure there are other
features that we haven't figured out yet because we haven't studied the
book.
We were never sure we wanted a regular computer (we senior citizens
sometimes find it hard to learn new things) but this works for us for
now.  We pay a monthly fee, and I really don't know what the equipment
costs.  I know it isn't terribly expensive.
Will the List Mom shut me down for suh a long message?
