Brush pottery made a number of animals on logs in 1957. I never saw one
that was marked, but they did make a bear. I assume you're talking
about a planter? Our experience has been that on most Brush pottery,
witih or without a number, the S is bigger tha the u and the a. Hope
this helps. I think American Bisque made similar items, but I don't
think they're marked at all. I don't know as much about their things
and haven't seen the book on them.
