new to McCoy also

Hi, everyone!

I, too, am a new McCoy collector.  I'm also headed to the library to
check out some books--I'm very confused.

One quick question, however:  This past weekend I came across a 
"treasure chest" looking cookie jar with the mark on the bottom
reading "Brush."  Is this a McCoy?  It was being sold "as is," and
the only flaw I could find was that a small piece had been broken
out of the lip of the cover (the part that keeps the top from falling
off) and glued back in.

The price tag said $45.00 firm.

I was afraid to buy it, but am wondering now if I should go back and
get it.

Any advice for this novice collector?
