Hi! Chiquita, I am not the person who sent the previous message but I have
been wanting to ask you some questions. First let me say thank you for being
so kind to share your knowledge with we newbies. I started collecting
cookie jars in 1959 but I had no idea that a lot of what I had was McCoy
until about a year ago so I am really learning a lot. I discovered that I
already had a pretty good collection of pottery without really knowing when
I brought together all of the old pots, vases etc. that my Grandmother,
Mother and I had. I got the HNH books and began studying but I am confused.
If the book says the item was marked and I find one in a shop that is not
marked but matches the description and the picture is it a fake?
Can you tell anything about RRP Co.? My Grandmother's jardinaire is marked
that way. She probably bought it in the 1920's. She was born in 1894 and
died in 1948 so it has to be somewhere in there. My mother says she had it
when she was a child and Mom was born in 1920. I also have an owl shaped
wall pocket of Grandma Clara's. It is not marked at all. It seems to me to
be more like majolica paint colors rather than McCoy. It has several bright
colors on the breast feathers.
I really appreciate your help in finding out about these pieces. Marie
