Hi,all! Can anyone tell me about Esmund? I collect fruit and vegetable coo=
kie jars, I have HNH Vol 1 & 2 and the 3 vol Cookie Jar Collectors. In HNH=
#2 there is a round red apple with 2 leaves on the lid. The leaves are gr=
een and they oppose each other. My jar is not marked but it is exactly lik=
e the one in the book. I have 3 more jars that look like this, one is gold=
with green leaves, one is all rose and marked Esmund, the other is all gre=
en and sort of mottled glaze; I mention that because I also have a pear whi=
ch matches the green apple glaze exactly. I have seen some auctions on eba=
y which lead me to believe that Esmund was made by McCoy. If so, when wher=
e and why?
I started collecting in 1959 when I bought 4 fruit cookie jars at Monto=
gomery Wards. One was the McCoy Big Red Apple with the strawberry top and =
another was this green pear. The pineapple and orange have stamped ink 4 d=
igit numbers on the bottom/no glaze. Could you tell me anything about the =
jars that have stamped numbers? Could you tell me if all the apples that lo=
ok like the red 2 leaf apple are all McCoy?
