To remove tape or price sticker "goo," just rub a bit of peanut butter on the 
spot and wipe off with a clean, soft cloth.

To clean pottery, I use Dawn dish detergent in warm water.  HOWEVER, I am not 
sure if this is a good method for the type of paint that you describe.
