Hi,
My name is LeeAnn and I am new to this list. I have several questions I would
like to ask.
First, I have the bottom to a McCoy cookie jar. The person who I got it from
said it was the bottom to red riding hood, but it looks like the bottom to a
mammie cookie jar to me. The glaze has popped off in a couple of places.
Otherwise it's in fairly decent shape. My question is, do people look for bottoms to
these cookie jars? Is it worth trying to sell?
Next, I bought a large brown and beige pitcher which has no markings on the
bottom. I bought it anyway because it was from an older woman's estate and
looked to be a good old piece. As I was carrying it to the car I noticed what
looks to be the word McCoy written on the inside of the piece on the side. It's
very hard to make out. Were any of the older McCoy pieces signed in this manner?
or is this wishful thinking on my part?
I would appreciate any information anyone could give me on both of these
pieces.
Thanks,
LeeAnn
