The longer you buy the easier it will get  to determine the pieces  by
company even  unmarked some will still be confusing but you can easily
look them up I recommend that  all collectors get  guides  its  your
best tool when collecting. Even if they are used or older  they are
still a good  way to Id an item.
My OH and I when we go  browsing  we will spot a  piece and each will
say what it is  before looking at  the bottom usually we agree
sometimes not  many times he  gets it right and he hasn't near as much
experience  as I have LOL but he can spot what he collects even
unmarked.  But he  buys what strikes him  any Ohio Pottery  that shouts
out to him LOL.. Patti
PS I am going to be listing some pottery and other stuff  on my site and
I offer and maybe ebay If i can swing the fees,  asap  I am in dire need
of a car My engine blew  last week  so I need to raise  funds fast I
need  a car  without one I  am stuck and will go insane  LOL His working
hours are too long for me to have to wait  for  him to come home to take
me anywhare. ugh !!
