The American Bisque Pottery, operated in Williamstown, West Virginia from
1919 to 1982, produced alot of the popular cookie jars, ashtrays, doorstops,
sprinkle bottles, banks, planters, lamps and much more.
Here's a little history......
1919 founded to produce china doll heads which had become hard to get from
Germany due to WWI
expanded production to cookie jars, bowls, serving dishes ashtrays, kitchen
ware etc
1922 B E Allen founder of Sterling China purchased interest resulting in the
purchase of all the stock.
1937 flooded.
1945 destroyed by fire.
"Sequoia Ware" and Berkley" were two of their lines.
1982 sold to Bipin Mizra who operated the American China Co for the
production of Airline china.
1983 completely closed.
