Well, thanks for the response anyway. I questioned the validity of this 
seller's items since I had read warnings about "private" auctions and unusual 
"promotion" of the item being sold. I did buy mine on E-bay, but not from this 
seller. I only paid $17.00 and that was for two jars - the mammy and a black 
butler (or baker - I'm not sure what he is). I figure even if they aren't legit 
McCoys, they are cute and they were a cheap addition to my cookie jar collection.
