Thanks to all of you for making me feel soooo welcome. I'm glad to hear that my bowl/planter...is actually a Brush-McCoy. I'm really excited to get a few of the books and go out hunting for McCoy!! I'm still pretty leery about buying from ebay...especially me being a "newbie" and all. We are always out antiquing anyways...(looking for Arts and Crafts era items)..so we might as well be looking for McCoy too! We also collect...arts and crafts/art nouveau/art deco hand painted porcelain plates....the ones that were sold as blanks and then hand-painted by girls and women in the early 1900's. We have actually gotten three of those off ebay and have been very happy with them....of course...they are not super collectible...so it's easier to obtain them. As far as pottery goes...I agree with what someone else said....I have to actually touch the piece, measure it..LOL...etc. This whole ebay pottery scares me...thanks by the way....for all the tips on what to watch out for. I went to the
ohio pottery website...looked at some of their fakes....then went to ebay..and was immediately able to pick out the frauds.....I just can't believe that....what people won't do for a buck!! Anyways..I've talked way too long again....thanks again to everyone...I'm soooo excited to be a part of this group.
Luv,
Olivia
