[Mccoypottery-talk] more on the Cauliflower Mammy

Just for fun... or spite... I'm not sure which, I
emailed dixieland_collectables and asked about the
cookie jar. I said I had bid on one of their earlier
earlier auctions for a Cauliflower Mammy cookie jar,
and it wasn't nearly so expensive and what made this
one different. I wasn't even sure if they had ever
listed one, but figured they had listed so many fake
McCoys they wouldn't remember either. (And no... I
never did bid on one.)

Here is their response:

Hello,

The one I had listed, was an 1939 original. The other
was a later one, what year it was made, I do not know.
There is a Big difference. I am going to relist it
tonight with a lower starting price.

16 years ago, the 1939 was selling at cookie jar show
for $3000.00. If you click on the link, in the
description, you can get actual information on this
Cauliflower, wher it sold for $4000.00.

You will not see a 1939 original cauliflower mammy on
ebay, but you will see the later ones. Thanks.

Hmmm... wonder if eBay would care that they just
admitted to selling a fake?

They did relist... this time with a starting bid of
$1499. And they still have those pesky links to
outside websites.
