re: Brush marks ... (my book was right next to me on the shelf) They
used a variety of marks when they marked their ware with the name Brush
*after* the split with McCoy ... some pieces said Brush, some said USA
and some said Brush USA. The Huxfords have the marks in their book ...
a simple script Brush would be sometime after the late 30's to the 60's.

Also from the Huxford's ... Brush and McCoy (which existed separately
before and after they were one company) were linked from 1911 to 1925.
As Chiquita said once in an earlier post ... there was no Brush/McCoy
mark. Nelson McCoy actually left Brush earlier than 1925 ... but the
name change didn't take place for several years.

Everyone else is right too ... ie. numbers were used on some ware. I
actually looked at dates just now and much of the numbered ware was
produced after Nelson McCoy left Brush but before the official
*severance* of the companies -- which makes a lot of sense if you think
about it. Jetwood, Zuniart and Vellum are all lines that were made
after Nelson left. Rather interesting when you think about that ... as
those are some of the most valuable Brush McCoy lines ... you can see
Brush move into very decorative and intricate ware during that period.

I've also seen a variety of planters that are unmarked that from style
seem to date from the late 30's to the 40's ... when Brush used paper
labels.

I love it when these questions come up ... a good chance to pull out the
books and take a good look. But the short answer to the original
question is if it actually says Brush ... it was made some time after
the late 30's - 70's.
