[Mccoypottery-talk] question about mccoy owls

Hi Howard,
  1st thing is, nice to see a fellow mccoy nut in Georgia.
   
  The owl in the ebay link is real. I dont recall seeing this one reproduced YET, mainly because IMHO it is a fairly common jar and can be had for a good price. 
  Any chance of seeing photo's of the other owl you mention?

the reason i'm now dubious is that one one side of the dark brown one and 
on both sides of the tan one, the "feathers" are not as distinct/detailed 
as on the fronts and the backs -- they're flatter, less raised from the 
surface. i'm wondering if mccoy let work out of the factory (even in the 
final days) where the quality was this inconsistent. or if these are the 
dreaded overseas knockoffs that i've read about.
any info or expert opinions appreciated.
